BGT stars Jack and Tim on tour thanks to Holden Group
Britain’s Got Talent finalists Jack and Tim are on the road for their first UK tour thanks to Holden Group.
The family-owned Norfolk motor group’s Renault dealership is supporting the father-and-son singing duo’s first tour and sponsoring them with the loan of a specially sign-written Trafic Sport van.
Son Jack and father Tim Goodacre found fame by reaching the final of 2018 Britain’s Got Talent TV show after wowing judge Simon Cowell. Having heard them sing their own song, The Lucky Ones, an emotional Cowell put them straight through to the live show semi-finals with his gold buzzer button.
Jack, 13, and Tim, 45, from Eccles, near Attleborough, are now enjoying their first UK tour and the Renault Trafic Sport van to carry their musical instruments and equipment to venues.
Jack and Tim, who collected the van from Stuart Bavester, sales manager of Holden Renault in Heigham Street, are very grateful for its help with tour transport.
Tim said: “A huge thank you for their support, and the support from the city of Norwich in general.
“We are really looking forward to the UEA gig on June 8.”
The tour comes a year after their BGT success when Jack and Tim were also a huge hit with the audience and viewers of the ITV show.
Having released The Lucky Ones as their first single, their second single, Thinking About You, follows in June to coincide with the tour, at which the accompanying video is being filmed. Their album, yet to be named, will be released after the second single.
Tim said: “It has been a great first year but it is not easy.”
He explained that you had to keep working hard and be driven to build your career on the amazing publicity you have been lucky enough to enjoy.
“You really have to see it as a fantastic springboard,” he said.
The tour will allow fans to hear more of their songs and other material.
“People will see we are not just about one song.”
Jack added: “I’m enjoying it very much. It’s really fun but we are working hard.”
And Jack revealed that, with all the work of loading and unloading the van on the tour, he had dubbed them ‘Shrek and Donkey on a whirlwind adventure’.
Tim added: “I’m Donkey!”
The UK tour kicked off in Hastings and future dates include:
May 23 - Newcastle.
May 24 - Glasgow.
June 7 - Shrewsbury.
June 8 - Norwich.
July 5 - Cornbury Festival, Chipping Norton, Oxfordshire.
