Faster Throttle Response
Throttle response has been calibrated to respond more quickly to driver commands – something that gives higher precision and better feel.
Faster Gear Changes
The automatic gearbox changes gears more quickly to improve acceleration and to respond more directly to the driver’s commands – for example, downshifts when overtaking.
Better Gear Precision & Hold
The gears have been calibrated to make full use of the engine’s enhanced mid‑range performance. Where possible, the gearbox also avoids shifting when cornering under high g‑forces, helping to maintain greater stability.
Faster Gear & Engine Response
The engine and gearbox have been calibrated to react more quickly when the driver releases the accelerator. This helps the car feel more balanced and predictable, particularly when cornering.
Increased Engine performance
We have focused the power where it matters most – in the midrange, ideal for overtaking or navigating busy motorways. When combined with quicker throttle response and faster gear changes, this makes the car noticeably more dynamic to drive.
Polestar AWD Feature
This feature is included in all new optimisations for AWD vehicles. It can also be added retrospectively to cars that already have the optimisation through Service Promise, Total Upgrade or Volvo Selekt Software. The upgrade increases torque distribution to the rear wheels on Volvo models equipped with all‑wheel drive (AWD), delivering a more dynamic driving experience.
