The Single Motor Extended Range powertrain provides smooth, responsive performance through an automatic drivetrain, delivering quiet and effortless driving whether in town or on longer journeys.

The 78kWh battery offers a range of up to around 360 miles (WLTP), making it suitable for both daily use and longer trips. Charging is straightforward at home or on the public network, with rapid DC charging capable of taking the battery from 10–80% in around 28 minutes at suitable fast chargers.

Inside, the EX40 features Volvo’s Google built-in media system, with Google Maps and Google Assistant integrated into the central touchscreen. Navigation can help plan charging stops and prepare the battery for fast charging by conditioning it ahead of arrival.

Connectivity is also available through the Volvo Cars app, allowing remote access to vehicle functions including pre-conditioning to warm or cool the cabin before you set off.

This Ultra specification adds a high level of comfort and convenience, including a panoramic glass sunroof, heated front and rear seats, and a 360-degree camera system that provides a full view around the vehicle when manoeuvring or parking.
