Overview

A fully electric SUV designed to combine everyday practicality with strong range capability. The Single Motor Extended Range powertrain delivers smooth, responsive performance, while the larger 82kWh battery provides an impressive WLTP range of up to around 360 miles, making it well suited to both daily commuting and longer journeys.

Charging is straightforward whether at home or on the public network. Rapid DC charging can take the battery from 10–80% in around half an hour at suitable fast chargers, helping minimise time spent charging when travelling further afield.

Inside, the EX40 features a central touchscreen infotainment system powered by Google built-in, with Google Maps and Google Assistant providing intuitive navigation, voice control and connected services. Navigation can also help prepare the battery for rapid charging by conditioning it ahead of arrival at a charger, supporting more efficient charging on longer trips.

Connectivity continues through the Volvo Cars app, allowing remote access to key functions including charge status and pre-conditioning of the cabin so the vehicle is ready and comfortable before you set off.

This Ultra specification also includes a panoramic sunroof which brings additional light into the cabin, heated front and rear seats for added comfort, and a 360-degree camera system to make parking and manoeuvring easier. A towbar is also fitted, adding extra practicality when required.
