Kia Celebrates Double Victory at News UK Motor Awards
Holden Group is delighted to celebrate Kia’s outstanding success at the prestigious News UK Motor Awards 2025, where the brand secured two major wins:
- Kia EV4 – Electric Car of the Year
- Kia PV5 Cargo – The Sun Van of the Year
These are the very first UK awards for both models since going on sale earlier this year, and we are incredibly proud to represent Kia at Holden Group.
A Milestone for Kia’s Electric Line-Up
The Kia EV4 has been crowned Electric Car of the Year, marking an exciting new chapter in Kia’s award-winning electric range. As Kia’s first ever C-segment electric hatchback, the EV4 combines long-range capability (up to 391 miles on a single charge, ‘Air’ 81.4kWh), spacious practicality, and advanced in-car technology. Starting at £34,695, the EV4 offers families a perfect balance of value, efficiency, and style.
Meanwhile, the Kia PV5 Cargo has been named The Sun Van of the Year. As the very first model in Kia’s Platform Beyond Vehicle (PBV) strategy, the PV5 Cargo represents a bold move into the electric Light Commercial Vehicle (e-LCV) market. With a range of up to 258 miles on a single charge, competitive pricing, and versatile design, it’s already being recognised as a real game-changer for tradespeople and businesses.
Praise from Industry Experts
The awards were judged by a panel of automotive journalists from across News UK, including Rob Gill (Motors Editor, The Sun) and Will Dron (The Times).
Rob Gill praised the Kia EV4, stating:
Kia continues to score home run after home run with its every-growing EV line up. This time it’s EV4, a hugely impressive five-door hatchback, with long-range batteries, spacious cabins and slick in-car tech. EV4 is News UK’s Electric Car of the Year.
Rob Gill Motors Editor, The Sun
On the Kia PV5 Cargo, Gill added:
PV5 Cargo is a brilliant first effort from the Koreans at a shockingly good price. The first of many major awards coming Kia’s way, I’m absolutely sure of it. I have lots of friends who run vans – plumbers, painters, sparkies, gardeners – and PV5 Cargo would save them a ton of cash, as well as looking good while they’re at it.

Recognition at the Right Time
Paul Philpott, President and CEO of Kia UK Limited, commented:
These high-profile awards come at an important time for Kia UK, as we introduce yet more industry-leading, fully electric products into new market segments and begin serving a wider range of customers. Both the European-built EV4 and commercial vehicle industry-disrupting PV5 will be delivered to customers within this quarter, and it’s pleasing to see such high praise for them as sales momentum continues.

A History of Success
This isn’t the first time Kia has been celebrated at the News UK Motor Awards. In 2024, the Kia Picanto was named City/Small Car of the Year, while the Kia EV3 took home Small SUV/Crossover of the Year.
Holden Group’s Message
As a family-owned dealership group in Norwich with nearly a century of history, we are immensely proud to represent Kia and share in these achievements. These awards are a testament to Kia’s continued innovation, design excellence, and commitment to electric mobility.
Congratulations to Kia on this well-deserved recognition – we look forward to helping our customers discover the award-winning EV4 (Available to order now) and PV5 Cargo coming very soon at Holden Kia.
