Kia EV4 Now Eligible for Maximum £3,750 Government Electric Car Grant
The Kia EV4 is now eligible for the maximum Band 1 Government Electric Car Grant (ECG), reducing the vehicle’s on-the-road price by £3,750. The enhanced grant applies to the EV4 Air Standard Range, EV4 Air Long Range and EV4 Motion grades.
With the grant applied, the EV4 range is available from £30,995 on-the-road for the entry-level EV4 Air equipped with a 58.3kWh Standard Range battery.
The maximum Band 1 grant applies to selected EV4 variants, while GT-Line and GT-Line S models remain unchanged. The introduction of the higher grant further strengthens the value offered across the EV4 line-up.
High-spec Kia EV4 Motion
Alongside the EV4 Air, the EV4 Motion also qualifies for the maximum £3,750 Government Electric Car Grant.
Positioned between the GT-Line and GT-Line S grades, the EV4 Motion offers a high level of standard equipment, including an eight-speaker Harman Kardon® premium sound system, unique cloth and artificial leather upholstery, outer rear heated seats, surround view monitor, blind-spot view monitor, and an electrically adjustable driver’s seat with lumbar support.
Like most EV4 variants, the Motion is powered by a 201bhp front-mounted electric motor paired with an 81.4kWh battery.
The EV4 Motion shares the same 17-inch alloy wheels and key exterior styling elements as the Air grade, including body-coloured door mirrors and side sills, black wheel arches and a silver window surround.
Available exclusively as a five-door hatchback, the EV4 Motion is priced from £36,745 on-the-road, including the £3,750 Electric Car Grant.
Kia models available with the Electric Car Grant
The EV4 joins a growing number of Kia electric vehicles benefiting from the Government Electric Car Grant, alongside the EV2, EV3 and PV5 Passenger. The grant helps make the transition to electric driving more accessible for both retail and fleet customers.
Current EV4 pricing with the Electric Car Grant applied is as follows:
• EV4 Air Standard Range (58.3kWh) – £30,995 OTR
• EV4 Air Long Range (81.4kWh) – £33,245 OTR
• EV4 Motion Long Range (81.4kWh) – £36,745 OTR
The Electric Car Grant
The UK Government’s Electric Car Grant is available to electric vehicles meeting strict criteria covering emissions, driving range, sustainability and warranty support.
The ECG criteria requires a manufacturer to have SBTi (Science Based Targets initiative) verification, which sets greenhouse gas emissions reduction targets in line with what is needed to help limit global warming and achieve net-zero emissions by 2050.
A Sustainable Journey
Kia continues to expand its electrified vehicle range as part of its wider sustainability strategy. The brand plans to introduce 15 EV models and 10 HEV models by 2030, while aiming for all Kia manufacturing sites to operate using 100% renewable energy by 2040.
Kia is also pursuing carbon neutrality across the entire product lifecycle by 2045 through a range of global environmental initiatives.
